Williamson, born on July 6, 2000, has had an amazing journey to become an NBA star. He went to Spartanburg Day School in South Carolina, where he played basketball for the Griffins.

He had a sudden growth spurt between eighth and ninth grade, growing from 5 ft 9 into 6 ft 3 in. This, combined with his ability to dunk, made him stand out on the basketball court.

The athlete also played for the South Carolina Hornets AAU team alongside another future NBA player, Ja Morant.

Throughout high school, Zion consistently showed his skills by scoring lots of points and grabbing rebounds.

Lateef led his team to win three state championships and received recognition as a McDonald’s All-American. His incredible slam dunks caught the attention of people all across the country.
