This was 24 hours before the game against Indiana Hoosiers. Ty didn’t play the game; however, his teammates did to honor Tony Berry. Battling with Indiana into double overtime but coming up just short 79-76. It was Wildcats’ 10-straight loss.

When Ty Berry’s father passed away, head coach Chris Collins posted an about 2-minute long video saying, “This has been a very emotional day for our basketball program for the last 24 hours.”

Then again continued by saying, “First and foremost, I want to say all our thoughts and prayers are with Ty Berry with what happened with his dad, the unexpecting passing of his dad. He loved his son. They spoke every day. It was heartbreaking this morning to deal with that with him.”

Ty also took it to Twitter by bidding his last goodbye to his father in honor of Tony. The Wildcats played the game that night against the Hoosiers. During the game, Ty’s teammate Boo Buie wore berry’s No.3 jersey instead of his regular No.0 jersey.

Many other grieving and honors were given to Tony Berry. It was all over social media and the Internet that day. And why wouldn’t people have so much respect for the 56-year-old Tony?

Ty Berry is a professional basketball player born in Newton, Kansas, in 2001. Berry hasn’t disclosed his actual date of birth, but according to many sources, he is a 21-year-old athlete. Ty stands tall at 6’3 feet or 1.90 meters.

The only information about his family is his beloved father. Everette Anthony Berry, also known as Tony, was born on April 23rd, 1964, to the union of Johnnie E. Berry(deceased) and Delores Smyles.

Well, Ty Berry father, Tony, played football for KU in the 80’s. He also played JV basketball at Kansas and was coached by current Kentucky head Coach John Calipari. At Kansas, Tony had a roommate named Danny Manning, also known throughout the basketball industry.
