The tragedy took place in the 900 block of Alandele Avenue. After they arrived, the officers located the resident of the home whom an intruder had shot.

As suggested by the NY Post, the tragic incident occurred on Monday around 6 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block of Glendale Avenue.
As reported by the authorities online, the victim was identified as a 33-year-old man who an intruder shot.
A resident named Averie Shevin, living in the area, said, “I opened my front door, and a cop was standing there, and he asked, ‘Are you okay?” and I said, ‘Yeah,’ and he repeated, ‘Go back into your house.
The victim, who was not earlier identified, was quickly transported to the hospital, where he did not survive.
Moreover, the resident said the victim lived with his partner and their pets. Averie revealed that the victim’s mom had just arrived to invite him to a movie.
She said: How is he? Is he going to be okay?’ his mom replied, ‘I don’t know if he’s going to make it,’ and my heart just stopped.
Also, the residents near the area reported that the suspect and victim knew each other. However, Eyewitness News has failed to confirm that information with the authorities.

Jameelah Elena Michl Mugshot: Suspect Arrested
A 36-year-old woman named Jameelah Elena Michl was arrested for allegedly breaking into an apartment in Mid-City. Reportedly, she fatally shot a man who lived there.
As suggested by the sources, Michl remained at the scene before she was taken into custody. Likewise, she was living in her vehicle, which is now being used as evidence for further investigation.
As reported by the resident, “I located somebody standing right here on the road with her hands up, so I’m assuming that’s her. Also, I heard her car was parked on the street.”
Michl is currently being held on $3 million bail, as suggested by official sources.

The District Attorney’s office filed a case of 187 PC- Murder and 459 PC- Burglary on 29 November 29, 2023, with a firearm enhancement against Michl.
As mentioned by the officials, the victim’s name is Michael Latt. He has been identified as a 33-year-old social justice advocate based in Los Angeles.
Reportedly, Latt was killed on Monday when a homeless woman broke into his residence and shot him.
Latt, 33, also founded the social justice group “Lead With Love.”
Moreover, the victim of a “tragic act of violence” suffered from a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was identified as Jameelah Elena Michl, who allegedly broke into the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood home around 6 p.m.
However, a clear motive behind the shooting remains unknown and is being treated as a random act of violence, as per the LA Times, citing sources.
Moreover, Latt’s family paid tribute on his Instagram handle, sharing that the man spent his career helping others, mainly from minority groups.
