Tragically, he passed away due to pneumonia in Germany in 2008, when Rose was just 16.

Namajunas was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to parents of Lithuanian descent who had relocated to the United States in September 1991.
She was given the name Rose in honor of her great-grandmother, Ro Gotalkait Namajnien, whose husband, Juozas, held the rank of Independent Lithuanian military officer.
Also, Juozas began his service in the Lithuanian military in 1933 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1936.
Rose’s grandfather, Algimantas Andriukonis, enjoyed success as a wrestler, achieving national championships in Lithuania and competing in various events within the USSR.
Furthermore, Namajunas maintains a solid connection to her Lithuanian heritage and regularly visits Lithuania, conversing in the Lithuanian language with her grandparents.
