However, the research did reveal ties to 19th-century Prussia. Mendelsohn’s paternal ancestors were among the early Prussian Jews who obtained naturalization in Schneudemuhl, located in the province of Posen, which is now known as Pila in modern-day Poland.

In 2016, the actor had the opportunity to portray the antagonist Director Krennic in the Star Wars film Rogue One, a role he described as fulfilling a childhood dream.

This was followed by his portrayal of Nolan Sorrento in Steven Spielberg’s science fiction film Ready Player One in 2018.

The same year, he also appeared in the film The Land of Steady Habits. Mendelsohn then joined the Marvel franchise by being cast as Talos in the film Captain Marvel, starring alongside Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson.

Mendelsohn also has another daughter from a previous relationship who is also involved in acting. Unfortunately, Ben and Forrest divorced in 2016.
