Mexican telenovela star Pable Lyle had an accident in 2019 in Miami when he punched a man during a confrontation during road rage.
Pablo sentence came four years after he was charged with murder in the death of a man he beat during a traffic encounter.
The person Lyle got into a confrontation with was 63-years old Juan Ricardo Hernandez, who died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The jury ultimately found the Mexican star guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the killing of the older man in October. The death of Juan was due to traumatic brain injury, and he died four days later while being treated.
Security cameras recorded the video of the road confrontation. The day incident occurred, Lyle’s brother-in-law took the actor, his wife, and his wife to the airport. While heading towards the airport, their car passed Hernandez, who stopped at a red light.
After stopping at the red light, Juan got out and approached the driver’s windows on Pablo’s vehicle to claim they blocked his way.
Pablo and Juan got into an argument, and the actor punched the older man in the face, which he claimed was an act of self-defense.
He stated that his children were frightened and feared Hernandez having a weapon with him.
Pablo Lyle Accident Case Trial Details
After four years, Pablo, being charged with the murder of Juan, has been sentenced to prison.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez has announced the sentence for Pablo after two months of rejecting the request for a new trial and upholding the guilty verdict.
He faced a maximum imprisonment of up to 15 years. The judge also ordered probation of eight years, resolution management for conflict and 500 hours of community service.
After hearing the sentence, the actor has 30 days to appeal the sentence. Since October 4, he has been convicted. The trial was a week-long trial with six jury members who convicted Lyle of involuntary manslaughter.
Lyle’s lawyers stated and argued that it was an act of self-defense and was not intentional. The lawyers also added that there were inconsistencies in the evidence.
After hearing Lyle’s lawyers, the judge, when handing down the sentence, stated that Lyle made a poor decision and acted out of anger.
Tinkler stated,” Mr. Lyle’s action was an act of violence as the evidence point towards the violence.” The cameras captured all the confrontation incidents.
The Son of Juan, Juan Ricardo Hernandez Jr., asked for a maximum of 15 years sentence to the judge.
During the trial, Juan, dressed in a red jail uniform, looked down, expressed repentance, and said he was very sorry in Spanish, looking at the family members of Hernandez who were in the courtroom.
