In 1993, Frank Swain was murdered in his mobile home, and a year later, Brandon Jones and Leroy Spruill were arrested for his murder.

The state’s theory was that they went to Swain’s mobile home to steal drugs and money before ending up killing him.

Despite a lack of concrete evidence, both Brandon and Leroy were found guilty and received life sentences.

On the fateful day of September 26, 1994, at approximately 3:30 p.m., her son had to climb onto the balcony to gain entry through the unlocked sliding glass doors since the front door was locked.

Then, he made the horrifying discovery and immediately sought help, screaming in distress.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police found no signs of forced entry or evidence of a robbery. The apartment appeared to have been locked either from the inside or from the outside using a deadbolt key.

Traces of blood were discovered in multiple rooms, indicating a struggle had taken place.

Sonja Day’s wrists were bound with electrical wire, which had been cut from the bedroom lamps, and she was tied to each corner of the headboard. One ankle was loosely wrapped with a black bra but not secured to anything.

She was found wearing a shirt, shorts, underpants, and no shoes. The viciousness of the attack was evident, with multiple stab wounds inflicted on her neck and chest, along with her throat being slashed.

Sadly, the identity of the killer remains unknown, and the case remains unsolved.
