Zaharie was a pilot for 33 years and 18,423 hours of flight time experience as he served for the airlines. For 16 years he was the Boeing 777 captain and had 8,659 hours on it. He was an experienced veteran with a lot of accomplishments and respect.

Is Zaharie Ahmad Shah Alive – Was the pilot found?

MH370 (Malaysia Airlines Flight 370) was a Boeing 777-200ER international passenger aircraft controlled by Malaysia Airlines.

On March 8, 2014, MH370 mysteriously disappeared an hour into its flight over the Indian Ocean. The Boeing 777 was on its regular flight routine from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

In its regular flight path, the plane took an unexpected turn and got traced on military radar on the Malacca Strait and then lost all contacts.

The plane was carrying a total of 239 people which included pilot Captain Shah and 27-year-old co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid, 10 working crew, and 227 passengers. 

The pilot of MH370 had planned his flight path carefully to avoid leaving clues. Sources say he had locked the co-pilot out of the cockpit before taking a turn and flew the plane until the fuel was completely emptied resulting in it plunging under the ocean. It was a mass murder attempted by the pilot.

Authorities in Malaysia confirmed the tracking device of the plane was switched off in the cockpit. 

So, Zaharie Ahmad Shah isn’t alive neither are the 238 people on the plane. Authorities have searched his home in the Shah Alam neighborhood of  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They found out about his psychological profile and looked into his family and connections. However, the pilot of 370 was never to be found.

The last automated position was reported at 01:07 am and at 01:19 am air traffic controllers received the last voice transmission from the cockpit  saying “Goodnight Malaysian 370.” 

9 years ago this was one of the most puzzling aviation tragedies to this day. It left many unanswered questions behind with grief for thousands of families.

Doomed flight captain wikipidea and age

Born on July 31, 1961, in Penang, Malaysia, Shah was a 52-year-old man before the Boeing 777 went missing with 238 passengers excluding the captain. 

There isn’t a lot of information about his family but he had a sister named Sakinab and was a married man and had 3 children. His family lived in a luxury gated community and had his own flight simulator at his home. However, there are rumors about the couple’s split.

The pilot’s friend says he was a devoted family man and his children loved to enjoy the food he cooked. However, he had mental health issues and was clinically depressed. He had also called his sister Sakinab a couple of days earlier before his last flight saying he wanted to meet her. 

In July 2015 debris from the MH370 was found on the beach of Reunion island. It was the aircraft’s flaperon and matched its serial number. More pieces of debris were found as it continued to wash ashore in Africa and in the Indian Oceans islands which were more than 4500 miles away from the estimated crash sight.

More than 36 pieces of debris were handed over to the Malaysian authorities which got washed up in Africa and another surrounding island.
