There has been a misconception that actress Keri Russell is Jewish due to an incident that occurred on the set of “Mission Impossible 3.” Reports claim that when actor Tom Cruise met Russell on set, he attempted to persuade her to join his religion, Scientology.

Russell reportedly declined, stating that her Jewish grandmothers would be concerned.

However, it has since been clarified that Russell is not actually of Jewish descent. She is, in fact, of Mormon heritage, with no Jewish ancestry in her family tree. It appears that her comment about her grandmother was simply a joke.
