In August 2021, Humza, a Scottish politician, suffered a painful accident.

While attending FMQs in the Scottish Parliament, Humza was seen using a knee scooter due to his Achilles tendon injury sustained while playing badminton.

Unfortunately, Yousaf lost control of his scooter and took a fall that was captured on video, which soon went viral on the internet.

The clip, shared on Twitter by BBC Political Editor Glenn Campbell, shows Yousaf riding his scooter along a corridor with an assistant running alongside him, holding his crutches.

Despite the embarrassment of his fall, Yousaf took to Twitter to address the issue head-on, responding to Campbell’s tweet by questioning the need for the video to be shared.

In his tweet, Yousaf highlighted the issue of media scrutiny and questioned whether it was necessary to share such a video of someone who was already injured.

Although a health and safety investigation was launched, it was determined that any issues with the flooring did not cause the fall.

Fortunately, it has been reported that the minister’s health has recovered, as he was not seriously injured during the incident and made a speedy recovery.

Humza Yousaf Age

Humza, the current First Minister of Scotland, was born on 7 April 1985 in Glasgow, Scotland. At 37, he has already achieved many significant milestones in his political career.

Yousaf’s worldview has been significantly influenced by his multicultural background, with his Father hailing from Pakistan and his mother from Kenya, both of South Asian descent.

His Father, Muzzaffar Yousaf, was born in Mian Channu, Punjab, Pakistan, and moved to Scotland in the 1960s. Yousaf’s mother, Shaaista Bhutta, was born in Nairobi, Kenya.

Growing up in Glasgow, Yousaf attended Hutchesons’ Grammar School, one of the most prestigious independent schools in the city. He later pursued a Master of Arts degree from the University of Glasgow and graduated in 2007.

In 2014, he was appointed Minister for Europe and International Development, becoming the youngest minister in the Scottish Government.

He has since held several other vital positions in the Government, including Minister for Transport and the Islands and Cabinet Secretary for Justice.

Besides his political career, Yousaf has also been in the news for his personal life.

He first married Gail Lythgoe, a former Scottish National Party (SNP) worker, in 2010 and separated in 2016.

Yousaf’s second marriage was with psychotherapist Nadia El-Nakla in 2019, with whom he has a child and a stepchild. The couple’s wedding was private, and they have been known to keep their personal lives away from the public eye.
