Duangphet Phromthep Thai Cave Rescued Boy dies at the age of 17. Phromthep’s cause of death remains a mystery.

The death of Duangphet Phromthep comes as a bad surprise as the boy was still very young and was expected to have a prominent career in football.

Duangphet ‘Dom’ Phromthep was the Wild Boars youth Football team captain. Promthemp studied at Vachiralai Bee School in Chiang Mai before he went to the UK for further studies.

He has been part of a football academy in the UK since last year. Leicestershire police reported the incident on Sunday as he was rushed to the hospital.

The cause of death is still a mystery, and it’s been reported that Duangphet suffered a fatal head injury. Police are treating the incident as an accident, and there is no unusual suspicion.

Phromthep was rushed to Kettering General Hospital. According to the East Midlands Ambulance service spokesperson, an air ambulance was sent to the scene.

Duangphet Phromthep was trapped and rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand. On 23 June 2018,   Wild Boars Football Team players raced on bicycles to the Tham Luang cave.

The youngsters were hit by an unexpected flood and trapped inside the cave with their coach. They were trapped for nine long days in the cave without food and light.

Desperate search parties of 1000 people turned every stone in the area to find them. A team of International Divers later found them.

Promthep was just 13 years old when this took place. His friends were aged between 12 to 16, and his coach was 25 years old. The team thanked their coach for keeping them safe.

They used rocks to dig their way up while the divers delivered food and letters from their families. Their coach taught them techniques to stay calm and use little air as practically possible.

This rescue made headlines all over the world. Different news media, films, and books retold the whole story. Netflix also made a six-episode series on the event.

Dom’s death hit everyone like a storm. After the news about his death, everybody wrote to his family expressing condolences.

“You told me to wait and see you play for the national team; I believe that you would do it,” Prachak Sutham, one of the rescued boys, wrote on his social media.

” When we met the last time before you left for England, I even jokingly told you that when you came back, I would have to ask for your autograph.”

” Sleep well, my dear friend. We will always have 13 of us together,” he said.

The principal of his college Brooke House College, Ian Smith, expressed his condolences and said they were ” deeply saddened and shaken” by his death.

He said, ” We unite in grief with all of Dom’s family, friends, former teammates and those involved in all parts of his life, as well as everyone affected in any way by this loss in Thailand and throughout the college’s global family.”

Duangphet often posts about his life in England. He recently posted a picture with his father, writing ”he is studying hard”.

The news of his death came out after his mother informed the Wat Doi Wao temple in Thailand, which he visited frequently.

The temple wrote on Facebook, ” May Dom’s soul rest in peace.” The news than spreaded like wildfire.
