Meadows Surgical Arts announced his passing on social media, expressing their deep sadness and shock at his sudden and tragic death.

According to reports, Doctor was flying alone to see his family on May 7, 2023, when his small plane crashed during a storm.

Authorities have located the wreckage of the single-engine Cessna 182 he was piloting in the woods in Polk County near the Tennessee/Georgia border.

The crash was reported to authorities by a 911 caller, and search, and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.

Rescue attempts on Sunday night were hampered by bad weather, and it wasn’t until Monday that Dr. Meadows’ body was found in the plane’s cockpit.

Dr. Meadows was a well-respected cosmetic surgeon dedicated his life to helping others.

Dr Lionel Meadows case Details

Dr. Meadows, a physician from Clarkesville, Georgia, tragically died in a plane crash on May 7, 2023.

Meadows flew from South Bend Regional Airport in Indiana to Jackson County Airport in Jefferson, Georgia, when the crash occurred.

According to reports from the Federal Aviation Administration, Dr. Meadows, who was 54 years old, was piloting the plane at the time of the crash.

The reason for the plane crash is still unknown, but it is thought that the stormy weather may have been a factor.

Someone in the area heard metallic sound near their residence and thought it might have been plane, and they called the authorities.

Rescue groups were sent to the area, but the dense forest and stormy weather made it hard for them to do their jobs.

The Hamilton County Drone Team was eventually called to help with the search efforts. After launching their drone, they were able to locate additional debris fields and finally discovered the cockpit with Dr. Meadows’ remains inside.

Dr Lionel Meadows Bio

Dr. Meadows was born in Macon, Georgia, in 1968. He grew up with his mother, Martha Rainey Meadows, and late Father, James W. Meadows. His life ended at the age of 54 in a plane crash.

In 1990, Dr. Meadows got his bachelor’s degree from Emory University. In 1994, he earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

He continued his medical education by completing a residency program in general surgery at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1998.

Dr. Meadows was the owner and medical director of Meadows Surgical Arts, where he specialized in body and facial cosmetic surgery.

In 2009, Dr. Meadows began a year-long fellowship with Dr. Jim English, a world-renowned plastic surgeon. This experience broadened his expertise and allowed him to learn about new surgical techniques in body and facial cosmetic surgery.

Meadows was also an active researcher and educator. He spoke annually at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery scientific meetings, where he shared his knowledge and expertise with other surgeons in the field.

Outside of work, Meadows enjoyed spending time with his family, which included his wife, Kathryn Meadows, and their two children, Aspen and Liesl. He also had a passion for flying, golfing, and playing guitar.
