Christine attended the Laurel School for Girls in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. Later, she attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she studied theater arts.

She then transferred to Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, before eventually earning a degree in broadcasting at Boston University in 1965.
