According to Fox News, the cause of death for Ashli Babbitt, aged 35, was determined to be a gunshot wound to her left shoulder. The medical examiner classified her death as a “homicide”. 

Roseanne Boyland, aged 34, died due to acute amphetamine intoxication, and her death has been determined to be accidental.

Kevin Greeson, aged 55, died as a result of hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and his death has been classified as natural.

Benjamin Philips, aged 50, also died of hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and his death has been deemed natural.

Ashli was killed on January 6, 2021, during an assault on the United States Capitol. She was among a group of supporters of President Donald Trump who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn his loss in the 2020 presidential election.

Babbitt tried to enter the Speaker’s Lobby by climbing through a broken window next to a barricaded door but was shot in the left shoulder by a United States Capitol Police officer.

The United States Capitol Police determined that the shooting was justified by their department’s policies and potentially prevented harm to members of Congress and staff.

In 2014, she took on the role of mentoring less-experienced airmen who were preparing for their initial deployment.

Despite serving for 12 years, Babbitt achieved the rank of senior airman, which The Washington Post described as a relatively low rank.

In a subsequent interview, Witthoeft mentioned that she was writing supportive letters to individuals who were arrested on January 6 and stated that her daughter had made a significant sacrifice to bring attention to what she believed was an election that had been stolen.

She acknowledged that Babbitt’s actions had garnered both admiration and criticism, saying, “Half the country loves her and half the country hates her. It’s weird to have your child belong to the world.”

Babbitt’s husband, when asked about comments made by Michael Mraynard, the organizer of the Justice for J6 rally dedicated in part to Babbitt, made it clear that he did not want any violence to be carried out in his wife’s name.
