According to ABC News, the mothers of Morgan Geyser and Anissa, named Angie Geyser and Kristi Weier, respectively, expressed their disbelief over their daughters’ involvement in the violent attack.

They stated that they could not fathom their daughters being capable of doing such a heinous act.

On May 31, 2014, two 12-year-old girls named Anissa and Morgan enticed their friend Payton Leutner into a nearby forest in Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States.

In a disturbing act, they proceeded to stab her 19 times, motivated by a desire to please the fictional character Slender Man.

According to Anissa Weier parents, she is deeply remorseful for the stabbing incident that took place in May 2014.

Anissa and her friend Morgan Geyser are accused of stabbing Payton Leutner 19 times.

At the time of the incident, Anissa and Morgan were both 12 years old and claimed that the act was a tribute to the fictional character Slender Man, whom they believed to be accurate due to their intense obsession.

Although the girls admitted to stabbing during police interviews, they have pleaded not guilty.

Her parents revealed that they had no prior knowledge of their daughter’s fixation on the mythological character.

Following her arrest, Morgan’s mother, Angie, stated that Morgan exhibited signs of being “floridly psychotic.”

Correctional officers observed Morgan frequently talking to herself, pretending to be a cat, and keeping ants as pets.

She claimed to have had interactions with unicorns and engaged in ongoing conversations with Slender Man and other fictional characters, including Severus Snape.

As per sources, William Weier provided an intriguing glimpse into his younger sister’s troubled state of mind.

He acknowledged being aware of her fascination with the mythical character Slender Man, which she initially discovered on the ghost story website Creepypasta.

William Weier also mentioned that Anissa enjoyed watching videos about Slender Man online.

Anissa’s brother further shared his perspective, stating that his younger sister appeared to be a typical and happy 12-year-old despite her peculiar interests.

He believed that she came across Slender Man on YouTube, developed an interest in it, and subsequently delved deeper into reading about the character.

According to William, his sister had a fondness for CreepyPasta and enjoyed reading Slender Man stories along with other eerie content.

She had an affinity for anything that was a bit creepy. However, he expressed his bewilderment over how her fascination with Slender Man transformed from mere interest to a disturbing reality.

The murder case involving Anissa and Morgan gained notoriety and became widely known as the Slender Man stabbing, a horrific and unforgettable incident. 

The two individuals who carried out the brutal stabbing of their friend are currently residing in a mental institution where they receive ongoing care and treatment. 

Relating to this case, HBO Films released a documentary film called “Beware of the Slenderman” in March 2016, which delved into the incident.

It later aired on HBO on January 23, 2017. Additionally, the event served as inspiration for an episode titled “Glasowman’s Wrath” in the sixteenth season of the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. 

The popular crime drama Criminal Minds also featured an episode called “The Tall Man” (Episode 14.05), which drew inspiration from the Slender Man stabbing and aired on October 31, 2018.
