From September 2000 until April 2006, the British woman worked as a mortgage adviser for The Mortgage People, and then from April 2006 to September 2008, she worked for Apple Tree Finance Limited.

She began working as a client services manager for EFS Freight Services in September 2008 and remained there till October 2011.

From October 2011 to April 2013, the manager worked as a mortgage auditor for Reclaims4U Limited. At the time of her disappearance, she was employed as a mortgage and protection advisor at Exclusively Mortgages.

Nicola Bulley Case details

The mortgage auditor drove from her home to the nearby village of St Michael’s on Wyre on Friday, January 27, 2023. She walked along the River Wyre with her springer spaniel dog Willow after dropping her children off at school at approximately 8:40 am.

Bulley sent out a message to her boss at 8:53 am. At 8:57 am, she texted a friend to schedule a playdate for their kids during the week. At 9:01, she joined a Microsoft Team call while keeping her cellphone camera and audio turned off.

The protection adviser was last spotted walking Willow off the leash in a riverbank field. Bulley’s cell phone was reported to have been in the area of a riverfront bench.

A passerby discovered the mortgage adviser’s phone on a seat near the River Wyre, still connected to a work call. Willow was discovered alone by the bench with no indication that she had been in the river, and a dog’s harness was spotted on the ground between the bench and the river.

A couple called the police on February 19 after discovering a body in the river while strolling their dog. The body that was discovered among reeds and foliage was retrieved.

Lancashire authorities confirmed the body was Bulley’s on February 20. She was identified via dental data. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

An investigation was launched on February 22 at the Preston coroner’s court and postponed until a date likely in June 2023 once identification was verified.
