Stefan Noosen is an American professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

The Ottawa Senators selected Noesen with the 21st overall pick in the 2011 NHL. After the abbreviated 2012-13 season, he was invited to training camp.

However, he did not make the squad and was sent back to Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League.

Noesen scored his first NHL goal on December 7, 2016. The Ducks put him on waivers in the middle of his longest NHL stint in 2016-17 after scoring only twice in 12 games.

In his NHL career, Stefan Noesen’s breakout season with the New Jersey Devils in 2017-18, when he ended with 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 72 games, stands out as his greatest accomplishment.

According to sources, the American ice hockey player suffered a wrist injury during the playoffs after recording 15 points in seven games. The injury sidelined him for the remainder of the playoffs. 

Stefan has been interested in ice hockey since his childhood. He grew up playing hockey in the Dallas suburbs. Blake Coleman, a future Devils player, was one of his young teammates.

At 14, he finally relocated to the north, where he played major junior hockey for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Furthermore, a first-round draft pick acquired by the Senators from the Nashville Predators in exchange for forward Mike Fisher was used to select him. 

On December 29, 2011, he agreed to an entry-level contract with Ottawa.

Moreover, he was selected for the 2013 World Junior Ice Hocket Championship for Team USA. However, he was not able to compete.

What Happened To NHL Player?

The American Ice hockey player, On March 29, 2022, was playing against the Tampa Bay Lighting when he suffered a lower-body injury and could not continue the game.

After playing for 10:24, he was injured in a collision with Nicholas Paul and left the game in the second period. Similarly, he also injured his wrist in a playoff after recording 15 points in seven games.

Noeson has also torn his ACL and MCL in his first chance to play professional hockey with the Anaheim Ducks AHL squad, which caused him to miss a year for his development.

Furthermore, he was also placed on injured reserves three separate times with an upper-body injury.

However, the player has not shared any information regarding the severity of his injury or how long he will be out of the lineup.

Stefan was suspended when playing for the USA, and IIHF honored the suspension, so he was out for ten games.

After the 2012-13 NHL lockout ended a few weeks later, he was invited to the Ottawa Senator’s training camp. On January 16, 2013, he was sent back to junior to play for the major junior team Plymouth Whalers after failing to make the Senator’s lineup.
