Savannah Guthrie is not Catholic or Jewish but Baptist and described herself as a “believing Christian.” . Savannah Guthrie is an American journalist, attorney, and co-anchor of NBC News’ “Today” show. 

She was born on December 27, 1971, in Melbourne, Australia, but grew up in Tucson, Arizona.

Guthrie graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in journalism before earning her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Before her career in journalism, she worked as a litigator in Washington, D.C. Guthrie began her journalism career as a reporter and anchor for local news stations in various cities, including Columbia, Missouri, and Tucson, Arizona.

Savannah Guthrie, the host of the Today show,  was raised as a  Baptist is a practicing Christian who often attends Trinity Grace Church in Manhattan and views her faith as being important to her life. 

She has been very vocal about her faith and religion. At a Catholic dinner in 2018, Savannah discussed her faith and how it has influenced her identity and parenting methods.

Guthrie said ” Motherhood and faith go together. I couldn’t do one without the other. Being a parent teaches us in the clearest terms how God, our Father in heaven, relates to us.

She added “I believe it is my role to give them the building blocks and to expose them to faith.”

 Guthrie has covered major news events, including the Olympics, presidential elections, and international events.

She has received several awards for her work in journalism, including the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Program and the News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story.

Savannah Guthrie Family

Savannah Guthrie’s husband’s name is Michael Feldman. They got married on March 15, 2014, in Tucson, Arizona. Michael Feldman is a communications and public relations consultant who is a Jewish.

They have two children together, a daughter named Vale Guthrie Feldman, born in 2014, and a son named Charles Max Feldman, born in 2016.

With her Jewish husband Michael Feldman, Savannah is raising her children in an interfaith household. They celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas, she revealed to The New York Times.

When Guthrie married her second husband, communications adviser Michael Feldman, in 2014, her perception on religion was broadened. The couple is rearing their 2 kids in both Jewish and Christian customs.

Savannah Guthrie’s parents are Nancy Guthrie and Charles Guthrie. Her mother, Nancy Guthrie, worked at the University of Arizona in the public relations department after her father’s death.

And her father, Charles Guthrie, was an engineer who died due to an heart attack when Guthrie was sixteen.

Savannah has two siblings, a brother named Camron and a sister named Annie.

Savannah Guthrie Health Update

In 28th February 2023, Savannah was tested positive for COVID-19. After her test results, the 51-year-old left the live morning program on Feb. 28, with co-host Sheinelle Jones providing an update shortly afterwards.

However, Guthrie reassured everyone that she was fine.

In January and May 2022, respectively, Guthrie tested positive for COVID twice. The journalist noted that despite the circumstances, she felt good after testing positive a second time and updating her coworkers on her health.

In November 2019, Savannah Guthrie announced on “Today” that she had undergone surgery to remove a cancerous growth on her right eye.

Guthrie underwent successful surgery to remove the cancerous growth and also had laser treatments to prevent the cancer from spreading.

She has since continued to work on the show and has discussed her experience with cancer on air to raise awareness about the disease.
