Wayne Swinny is the lead guitarist of the band “Saliva,” a rock band that was formed in Bartlett, Tennessee, in 1996. He was one of the founding members and was in the original line-up of the band as the guitarist.

The band’s self-titled debut album was released in 1997, and “Every Six Seconds,” their major-label debut, was released in March 2001.

With its lead song “Your Disease,” “Every Six Seconds” went on to sell 1 million copies and garnered the band a Grammy nomination in 2002 for best hard rock performance.

Two songs from the band’s Every Six Seconds album, Click Click Boom and Superstar, were used in the first installment of the Fast and the Furious movie series in 2001, catapulting them into the public eye.

Before the band became a regular feature for the American wrestling promotional company WWE between 2007 and 2010, their third album, Back Into Your System, brought the number one Billboard Modern Rock Tracks hit, “Always.” This was before the band served as the official soundtrack for some of the company’s main events.

Since 2005, Hollywood actor and former WWE superstar Batista has utilized Saliva’s “I Walk Alone” as his entrance song. The band’s music was also used as the soundtrack for a number of PlayStation 3 commercials by Sony.

The musician’s death was announced only a few hours after the band stated that the founding member was hospitalized in intensive care after suffering a brain hemorrhage on Tuesday. He passed away at the young age of 59, but his exact date of birth is unknown.

The guitarist passed away on the afternoon of March 22 from a spontaneous brain hemorrhage while on tour. Swinny was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after bandmates discovered he was in “medical distress.” His bandmates from Saliva announced his passing on Facebook on Wednesday.

“It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our brother Wayne Swinny,” the band wrote. “Wayne passed away this afternoon from a spontaneous brain hemorrhage while we were out on tour. … Wayne will be missed by all those who knew him.

The band members further added, ” We love you Wayne.”

The band posted on Facebook a few hours before Swinny’s passing that he was taken to a hospital, where he was identified as having a spontaneous hemorrhage in his brain. He was brought to the ICU for treatment just before he passed away.

Josey Scott, who departed Saliva in 2011 after being part of the band for 15 years, paid respect to Swinny by posting a picture of the two together on Instagram.

Scott wrote, “I have no words. Just the love, and the little moments, and the looks that we shared, just between us and the fans, on stage, after stage, all over the world, that no one will ever know.”
