Likewise, the BBC presenter explained recently about his ‘reactive arthritis’ symptoms and their common signs.

Robert Peston illness news came not long after the ITV editor lost his wife to cancer. According to the Guardian, the journalist revealed: 

Soon after my wife, Sian, passed away, I became very ill, which I think was my body just saying, “Stop!” I was hospitalised with some weird condition.

BBC presenter Peston added saying, “I think I also suffered a post-traumatic stress for a period. I was in breakdown. It took me a long time to get over it.”

As suggested by several medical research, men and women of any age can be impacted by reactive arthritis.

57-year-old ITV journalist Robert Peston was diagnosed with reactive arthritis. Sadly, Peston realized it was time for him to “stop”.

Likewise, the ITV editor’s medical condition left him “weak” for a while, as he revealed that it forced him to take six weeks away from work.

The NHS suggests reactive arthritis as “a medical condition that leads to redness and inflammation in several joints, mainly the knees, feet, ankles, toes, and hips.

Reactive arthritis also causes joint pain which is most often triggered by an infection in another body area. 

In most cases, the pain targets weak parts like knees and feet. Likewise, in an interview, journalist Peston said:

I was diagnosed with reactive arthritis. All my joints swelled up. Also, I was too weak for a while.

I took nearly six weeks off. Luckily, I have made a full recovery. I think my body was just saying, “Stop! You have to be kinder to yourself.

As per the latest update, Peston is recovering well from his illness. However, he has to find a way to balance his illness and life. 

Also, the journalist inspires people to never quit even after stepping back from his professional career.
