Michele Marsh was an American broadcast journalist who became well-known for working at two New York City television stations from 1979 to 2003.
Michele Marsh was born on March 9, 1954, in suburban Detroit. She graduated from Northwestern University, where she studied radio and television production.
She began her career at a television station in Maine, where she operated the teleprompter with her toes while on the air. Later, she moved to San Antonio and gained popularity.
1979 Marsh joined WCBS-TV in New York City as an anchor and correspondent. She was part of a group of women who became anchors at all five of the city’s late-night news programs by 1980.
Marsh spent 17 years at WCBS as an anchor and correspondent. In 1996, she was let go in a station reorganization, but she soon joined WNBC as an anchor alongside Chuck Scarborough.
However, she left WNBC in 2003 when she lost her anchor position. Sadly, Marsh passed away on October 17, 2017, at the age of 63, due to complications from breast cancer.
