A service agent shot at least four rounds at Routh, who was hiding with an SKS-style rifle in shrubbery at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He was allegedly pointing his weapon through the fence line of the golf course, 300-500 yards away from the former president, who was moving between holes five and six along real estate investor Steve Witkoff.
Ryan fled the scene but was later arrested as the prime suspect. The FBI update on September 16, 2024, mentioned that Routh had not fired his weapon.

Oran’s father, Ryan Wesley Routh, raised him. His parents officially separated in 2003. He has one sister whose name has not been disclosed yet.

Routh is looking forward to a small construction company in Hawaii owned by his family.
He has a criminal history, including arrests in 2015 and 2016 for driving while impaired, assaulting a female, and interfering with emergency communication.

Oran was charged in federal court in North Carolina on Mandya with one count of receipt and possession of child p*rnography.
According to U.S. District Court records, he was arrested on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, and no attorney for him is listed.
The criminal complaint says Oran Routh’s North Carolina home was searched in connection with an unrelated case. It is unclear whether that case was the investigation into his father.
According to the complaints, the FBI searched Oran’s home on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
A review of a memory card in a Samsung phone found in his bedroom uncovered hundreds of files containing child physical abuse images.
He was also charged with d*ug possession on the day federal agents took his devices.
Law enforcement officers seized various chemical substances as well as gold and black trays with a white powdery substance at his residence.
Investigators reported that they observed a video of a woman with a girl aged 6 to 8. Court records show that Oran is in federal custody.
