He was given the name Mohamed Farah by those who trafficked him over from Djibouti in Somalia, aged nine, to look after another family’s children.

Farah’s sports teacher encouraged him to run and drove him to club practice sessions.

In his first English school cross-country championships in 1996, Farah placed seventh, but the following year, he won the competition, claiming the first of five school crowns.

Mo Farah is not his parent’s only child, as he has a younger brother named Hassan Farah.

Hassan Farah is Mo Farah’s twin brother, who was separated from him when they were children.

Mo Farah recently revealed that he was trafficked into the UK as a child using another child’s name. Hassan and Mo were raised in Djibouti.

Hassan was left behind in Djibouti when Mo was trafficked into the UK.

Mo’s father could not locate Hassan when he arrived in Djibouti, and he eventually had to return to the UK without him.

Mo and Hassan were reunited after 12 years apart when Mo traveled to Djibouti to see him. Hassan still feels excited every time Mo returns to Djibouti to visit him.

Mo has described their bond as very close and has spoken about how much he missed Hassan during their separation.

Mo Farah Family And Ethnicity

Mo Farah’s parents are Muktar Farah and Amran Farah.

Mo Farah’s father, Muktar Farah, was British-born, and his mother, Amran Farah, was Somali.

When Farah was four years old, Muktar Farah was killed by stray shrapnel in Somalia’s civil war.

Moreover, Farah’s mother sent him and his twin brother, Hassan, to live with an uncle in neighboring Djibouti for their safety.

However, Farah’s mother did not accompany them to Djibouti, and she remained in Somaliland.

Mo Farah’s ethnicity is Somali-Britsh. Farah was born in Somaliland, a northern Somalia region; his parents were Muktar Farah, a British citizen, and his Somali wife, Amran Farah.
