Mitt Romney Religion has been a topic of discussion, given his position as a political figure. People are curious to know about his next move in politics.

Willard Millard Romney is an American politician and businessman. He is also a lawyer who has represented Utah as a junior senator for the U.S. since January 2019, succeeding Orrin Hatch.

From 2003 until 2007, Mitt governed as Massachusetts’ 70th governor. In the 2012 election, he was the Republican Party’s candidate for president of the United States.

Mitt served as a Mormon missionary for more than two years in France. Willard was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS Church) throughout his adult years, where he served as his ward’s bishop.

Later, he served as a stake president for a region that included Boston and many of its suburbs.

Millard is a fifth-generation member of the LDS Church. He is the great-grandson of Miles Park Romney and a great-great-grandson of Miles Romney, who converted to Mormonism in the religion’s first ten years.

Willard held several positions in the community’s lay clergy. He worked as a ward bishopric in the early 1970s. From 1981 until 1986, he served as the ward’s bishop in Belmont, Massachusetts.

In addition, The Bain Capital founder also organized Sunday services and lectures based on LDS scriptures to help guide the churchgoers.

The American businessperson was directly involved as an LDS minister in helping people struggling financially and those with family problems.

So, even by looking at the family’s history and his time as a Mormon missionary, we can say that he is a devoted Christian.

The politician was born on March 12, 1947, to his father, George, and mother, Lenore Romney.

Mitt’s mother was from Logan, Utah, while his father was born in a Mormon colony in Chihuahua, Mexico, to American parents.

Millard is mostly English, but his ancestors are Scottish and German. So it can be concluded that he is of White ethnicity.

Family Of Mitt Romney-Explored

Romney was born into one of the most well-known Mormon families. His father was a  former governor of Michigan and a successful business executive at American Motors.

He was also the U.S. cabinet’s secretary of housing and urban development.

On the other hand, his mother was a well-known actress and political figure. In 1970, she was the Republican Party’s nominee for the United States Senate from Michigan.

She was engaged in various charity, cultural organizations, and volunteer work. She advocated for more female participation in business and politics.

She had appeared in films such as “Greta Garbo” and “A Tailor Made” as an actress and had also worked as a voice actor in a few animated cartoons.

Apart from Millard, he has three other siblings, and he is the youngest of them.

He married Ann Lois Romney in 1969. Anne is an author and a  Philanthropist. The couple has five children. Their eldest son Tagg is also involved in politics. He works as a political advisor.
