Richard Morales Jr., also known as Gunplay, is a renowned rapper who began his hip-hop career as a member of the Southern hip-hop group Triple C’s, led by Florida-based rapper Rick Ross. 

In 2009, Triple C released their first album, titled “Custom Cars & Cycles.” Gunplay later signed with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group and announced in July 2012 that he had secured a solo recording contract with Def Jam Recordings.

Throughout his career, Gunplay has released several mixtapes, including “602 & Snort.” His debut studio album, “Living Legend,” was released in 2015.

The rapper entered the solo scene with his feature on Rick Ross’ song “Gunplay” from the album “Deeper Than Rap” in 2009.

He continued to release mixtapes under the Maybach Music Group label, collaborating with other artists and making appearances on joint albums.

In July 2012, Gunplay secured a solo contract with Def Jam and subsequently released his debut mixtape, titled “601 & Snort,” in September of the same year.

Gunplay wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, is mostly known for being the fiancee of popular rapper Gunplay.

Vonshae Taylor-Morales is a public figure who has tonnes of followers on her Instagram account, where she shares pictures with her husband and their children.

The American musician has a tattoo of a swastika and has provided varying explanations for its meaning.

In a 2012 interview with Pigeons & Planes, he stated that he intentionally used the tattoo to associate Nazi atrocities with his determination to confront and overcome negative influences in his environment.

He expressed his intentions to “Nazi that s***” and “Hitler that motherf****,” suggesting his desire to eliminate fake individuals metaphorically.

However, in a 2013 interview with Complex, Gunplay offered a different perspective, stating that the swastika was originally a symbol of peace, happiness, and love, which the Nazis twisted into a symbol of death.

He compared society’s transformation of individuals from innocent babies to monsters to the distortion of the swastika’s meaning.

Additionally, at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, Gunplay was involved in a physical altercation with members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit affiliates backstage.

The talented rapper and musician was married to Richard’s mother but got divorced from her in 2008.

The American rapper is known to practice Santeria, a religious tradition, and has expressed that he found a stronger connection with God through his involvement in it.

According to TMZ, the rapper surrendered himself to Miami authorities on October 10, 2012, after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of armed robbery.

His attorney stated that if convicted on both counts, Gunplay could have faced a potential life sentence.

On October 22, 2012, he was granted a $150,000 bond and placed under house arrest in relation to the robbery, which occurred at a Miami tax business.

He was released from house arrest in January 2013. The trial for the charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault began on February 25, 2013.

The American rapper Gunplay has a son named Richard Morales III, who was born in 2004 with his ex-partner.

His debut album, titled “Living Legend,” was released on July 31, 2015. The album was initially announced in 2012 under the titles “Bogota” and later “Medellin.”

He described it as a raw and authentic street album. The album featured guest appearances from artists like Rick Ross and Yo Gotti, among others.

While there were plans for additional collaborations, such as a track with Big Sean and a Pharrell Williams-produced track titled “Steel Drums,” these did not come to fruition.

Several singles were released from the album, including “Tell ‘Em,” “Wuzhanindoe,” “Be Like Me,” and “Blood on the Dope.”

Gunplay was also expected to appear on Maybach Music Group’s fourth collaborative album, “Self Made 4.”
