Following an automobile accident this past Saturday near Mundelein, Illinois, resident Kevin Dolan tragically lost his life.
He was 66 years old. According to official reports, this fatal incident also injured three other individuals, including Kevin’s son, Sean.
Per the information provided by the sheriff’s office, the collision occurred in the 29000 block of Gilmer Road around 4:45 in the afternoon.
Kevin was behind the wheel of a 2019 Ford Expedition, heading north on Gilmer, when he suddenly swerved to the right and left, eventually veering off the road and colliding with a tree.
When officials arrived at the scene, the vehicle was already in flames.
Regrettably, the vehicle’s driver was trapped inside and declared deceased on-site.
Kevin’s son, Sean, who was a passenger, was thrown from the vehicle.
According to law enforcement, he was airlifted to the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Centre in Maywood and is currently in critical condition.
Two other occupants, men in their thirties from Chicago, managed to escape the burning vehicle. As per the police, they were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
The authorities and the Dolan family do not reveal further details about Kevin Dolan’s car accident.

As per sources, Dolan has been a commissioner on the Mundelein Park & Recreation District board since 1997.

According to reports, Dolan was actively involved in the community, serving as a youth basketball coach and holding positions on the board at Santa Maria del Popolo School in Mundelein, among other roles.
In addition to his wife, Barb, Dolan is survived by four children and three grandchildren.
The visitation was scheduled for Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Kristan Funeral Home in Mundelein, 219 W. Maple Ave.
The funeral mass was conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 22333 W. Erhart Road, near Mundelein.
