Is Rachel Reeves Jewish?  The politician is not Jewish. Her full name is Rachel Jane Reeves and she is an economist and politician. She has held the position of Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer since 2021.

She has served as the Leeds West representative since 2010 and is a member of the Labour Party.

She was chosen in the general election of 2010 and worked in Ed Miliband’s Shadow Cabinet as the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2011 to 2013 and held the position of Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2013 to 2015.

After Jeremy Corbyn was elected Labour leader in 2015, Reeves did not rejoin the Shadow Cabinet; instead, she took over the Business, Energy, and Industrial Policy Committee from 2017 to 2020.

Reeves was selected by Keir Starmer, as Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office. Then in May 2021, She took over the position of Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

According to the Jewish News, she is a church-going Christian. The politician also shared on Instagram that she had a great day celebrating Christmas with her friends and family. She does, however, support the Jewish community.

In that source it also states that she praises the efforts of local nonprofits like the Leeds Jewish Housing Association and the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, noting that they continue to assist “some of the most needy individuals in society” in collaboration with the city council.

She reportedly joined the Jewish Labour Movement as an associate member on March 27, 2018, to show her support for the Jewish community.

Rachel claims that since she was elected in 2010, she has witnessed widespread mistreatment of Jewish women and women of color within the parliament.

Graham and Sally Reeves welcomed Rachel into the world on February 13, 1979, in Lewisham, London, England, UK. Both of her parents were teachers. She has one sister Ellie Reeves who is also a politician. The politician has British nationality and she is from a Christian household. She claims that she was inspired to enter politics by her father and sister.

Reeves went to a girls’ school, Cator Park School. She won the British Under-14 Girls Chess Championship at her school in a competition put on by the British Women’s Chess Association, which is no longer in existence.

She studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at New College, Oxford (MA), after learning A-Levels in Politics, Economics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
She did her MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics.

From 2000 to 2006, she work as an economist at the Bank of England and the British Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Reeves moved to Leeds in 2006 for her job with HBOS.

Nicholas Joicey, a government employee who served as Gordon Brown’s( former prime minister of the United Kingdom and from 2007 to 2010, as the Labour Party’s leader) former speechwriter and personal secretary, is the husband of Reeves. The pair has houses in London and Leeds.

Joicey, the politician’s husband, was born to Wendy Joicey and Harold Beverley on May 11, 1970, in Guisborough. He received his education at Grimsby’s Wintringham School and received a history degree from the University of Bristol and then earned a Ph.D. from Peterhouse in Cambridge.

On September 20, 2012, Reeves made her first pregnancy announcement and gave birth to a daughter. and a son in 2015 after that.
