Mary Steenburgen has been married twice. Her first marriage was to actor Malcolm McDowell, whom she met while filming the movie “Time After Time” in 1979.

They married the same year and had two children together, a son named Charlie and a daughter named Lilly. However, they divorced in 1990 after 11 years of marriage.

Steenburgen later met actor Ted Danson while filming the movie “Pontiac Moon” in 1993. They began dating and got married on October 7, 1995. They also frequently collaborate on screen, appearing in films and television shows together.
