The actress attended various schools and colleges throughout her life. She first attended Emma Willard School, an all-girls boarding school in Troy, New York.

Fonda then moved to Paris, France after college, to study art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. While in Paris, she also began to do modeling and acting in French Films.
