Jeffery Carpoff is an American entrepreneur and former auto mechanic who founded the DC Solar Company in 2008.

He was born in 1970 and is currently 54 years old.

Carpoff completed his education at Wyoming Tech and Alhambra High School. He then set up RoverLand USA, one of America’s largest autonomous certified Land Rover and Jaguar repair facilities.

In 2008, Carpoff founded DC Solar Company, which claimed to specialize in mobile solar generators. However, the FBI raided the Company’s operations in December 2018, leading to allegations of a Ponzi scheme associated with the Company. DC Solar Company eventually filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Investigations by the FBI and the SEC revealed that Carpoff and his wife, Paulette, had pledged federal solar tax credits, lease payments, and profits to 17 investors between 2011 and 2018 but instead used the funds to indulge in lavish spending.

Meanwhile, most of the lease revenue was being paid with money from new investors, and many of the mobile solar generators the Company claimed to have built never existed.

In January 2020, the Carpoffs pled guilty to wire fraud and money laundering, forfeiting $120 million in assets.
