On Sunday at 4:30 pm, the concerned authorities reported that they received a case regarding a boating incident involving a head-on collision near Bayshore Boulevard in St. Pete.

All concerned departments including The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), St. Petersburg Police Department, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue United States Coast Guard (USCG), and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) responded to the tragic mishap. 

Tharakan was ejected from an 18-foot boat that crashed after a rock collision in St. Petersburg on Sunday evening. 

Early investigation suggests that the 15-year-old boys were thrown into the water. 

As suggested by the preliminary reports, an 18-foot Key West Center Console vessel crossed the seawall four houses, sticking a rock head-on, leaving a deadly incident to witness.

Jonathan Carlon, a rescuer and prime witness of the incident, said: 

The scene was like something out of a movie, an unmanned boat going full speed at the seawall. My immediate response was I needed to protect my daughter and my wife loves going on the dock.

After seeing them no harm, I quickly jumped into the action killed the power of the boat, grabbed the anchor line, and tied in my neighbor’s dock. 

Also, the boat had a cell phone, and the music was still on.

However, the witness did not see any people on board, and it was unclear who rode the vessel initially. 

Reportedly, the two boys, one driver, and the other passenger were ejected out of the vessel, and Tharakan was pronounced dead. 

Moreover, the concerned authorities identified the boys from the local area.

Quickly, the two teens were shifted to a local hospital in critical condition.
