Likewise, the scans of his vertebral column were an eye-opener, revealing the narrowing of the left neural foramen between the C6 and C7 vertebrae.

The nerve responsible for controlling his tricep muscles in the upper arm was being pinched, causing excruciating pain.

Health Update – What Happened To Him?

As of 2023, Aljamain Sterling has recovered from neck surgery and is back in the Octagon, competing at the highest level in the UFC.

He returned to fighting in early 2022, and his recent fight was on May 6, 2023, where he faced off against Henry Cejudo in the main event of UFC 288. Fans were excited to see Sterling back in action and performing at his best.

The surgery was successful, but his recovery was no walk in the park. Despite his determination to push through and face Yan on Oct. 27, Sterling ultimately had to listen to his body and withdraw from the fight at UFC 267.

However, the good news is that he is fully recovered and back in action! His recent fight on May 6, 2023, against Henry Cejudo showcased Sterling’s impressive skills as he triumphed with a split-decision victory.
