Borys was just 26 years old when the tragic incident took her life. The incident occurred on 14 February, 2023 in the Kroger grocery store parking lot on St. Andrews Road in Irmo.

According to her husband Tyler, Cress was shopping with her sister-in-law, niece, and nephew in that grocery.

Tyler stated that shortly after packing groceries into her car before 4 p.m., an argument erupted in the parking lot between his wife and a stranger.

Their verbal dispute reached the point that the attacker opened fire on Alexandria. Cress died at the scene after being hit in the head by a gunshot.

Her kids were inside her car at the time of the incident. The Woman who shot her fled the scene after shooting her but later turned herself in to the authorities.

The attacker was identified as Christina Harrison, just 23 years old. During their dispute, she lets her anger get the best of her and shoots her victim.

Before Borys was declared dead at the scene around 5:30 p.m, Harrison turned himself into the Irmo Police Department (IPD).

The heinous crime occurred a week after her younger brother Brandon died as a result of a gunshot wound.

The horrific occurrence has left a trail of sadness across the country. It also calls into question the general public’s ownership of guns and their purpose. As a result, authorities should work on tightening laws and regulations to prevent such incidents.

Investigators found the two ladies did not know one other and were involved in a heated argument before the shooting after speaking with witnesses and analyzing security footage, according to Irmo police.

It’s unknown what sparked the dispute between the two of them. Irmo Police Chief Bobby Dale stated on his social media,

“Unfortunately, this is a situation where tempers flared, and someone let anger get the best of them. One rash decision has impacted the lives of two families and countless others who witnessed this tragic event.”, “Senseless is the only word I can think of to describe what happened today.”

Harrison has since been accused of murder, carrying a gun without a permit, and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

Christina is due to appear in court on Wednesday, but her private counsel declined the hearing.

Family Details Of Alexandria Cress Borys

Cress had a husband named Tyler Borys. The couple had two children. A two-year-old and an infant son.

Her husband remembered Alexandria as the “greatest wife you could possibly want for.”

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by her husband for a memorial of Borys.

Tyler is collecting funds “to build a memorial for Alexandria to honor a great soul. Whether it be something small, a park installment, or wherever we can do. Thank you all for your thoughts. Hold your loved ones close.”
