Rujira Banerjee, born in Kolkata, India, in 1988, is the wife of TMC politician and leader Abhishek Banerjee.
They tied the knot on February 24, 2012, and have been together ever since, sharing the joy of parenthood with their two children, Azania and Aayansh.
Rujira received her education in a private school in her hometown before pursuing her degree from Jadavpur University. However, her family extends beyond her immediate household.

Once again, the wife of Indian politician Abhishek Banerjee found herself in a predicament as she was halted from boarding a flight bound for Dubai at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata.
This incident occurred in light of her alleged involvement in the Bengal coal smuggling scam, leading to her detention at the airport.
According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), two companies, namely Leaps and Bound PVT LTD and Leaps and Bound Management Services LLP, have been linked to Banerjee and his family.
The ED asserts that these firms illicitly received protection funds totaling Rs 4.37 crore from a construction company through individuals under investigation for their role in the coal smuggling case.
Interestingly, Abhishek Banerjee’s father, Amit Banerjee, serves as one of the directors of Leaps and Bound Pvt Ltd. At the same time, his wife, Rujira, holds a directorial position in Leap and Bound Management Services Limited alongside her father-in-law.
In response to these allegations, Rujira’s lawyer affirmed that she had previously informed the ED about her travel plans, providing them with details and a copy of her tickets several days before the incident.
She has previously faced questioning from central agencies concerning a probe into a multi-crore coal pilferage scam.
The investigation stems from an FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2020, addressing the issue of coal pilferage.
