The Exact Cause Of Clare Afshar’s Death Is Not Disclosed
Clare Afshar, the founder of the Vintage Rocks salon in south Belfast, passed away on October 18, 2024. She was in her forties.
Following her passing, tributes were given to a well-known hairdresser and businesswoman from Belfast, one of Ireland’s pioneers of retro style.
The mother-of-two founded the company in 2009 in the Newtownbreda neighborhood.
It’s believed to have been the first in Ireland to focus on the classic rock and roll look that would become wildly famous in the years that followed.
After moving back to Ireland as a teenager, she established herself as one of the most influential stylists in the north.
Moreover, she received recognition for her unique domestic and international work, and she was nominated for NI industry awards.
Anyone with the good fortune to know Clare would have stories to share since she had a real impact on everyone she came into contact with.
There isn’t a phrase to adequately describe her other than “pure magic.”
Clare Afshar Was A Wife and a mother
According to a family statement, Clare was a “passionate, creative hair stylist and entrepreneur, as well as a loving wife and mother. ”
To ensure that Clare has the most spectacular farewell possible, a GoFundMe campaign was launched in her honor.
Any money raised for Ciaran, Clare’s husband, will go toward making this happen.

This would also relieve the burden of financial hardship from Clare’s loving family as they grieve for their lovely mother and wife.
Similarly, Clare’s family mentioned that,
“Clare’s dedication to the hair industry transformed the local hair scene, pushing industry standards in creativity.”
Her family members are “truly devastated by her loss and would appreciate time to grieve in private,” the statement continued.
Since Clare’s passing, social media has been inundated with tributes.

- During the Covid shutdown, Clare worked on NI Opera’s short film, Old Friends and Other Days. The video won many honors, notably at the London International Short Film Festival and the Madrid Art Video Festival.
