Her mother, a Hindu Tamil Mauritian, was a nurse and a councillor in Brent, while her father, of Goan Christian ancestry, worked for a housing association.

Additionally, she is also the niece of Mahen Kundasamy, a former Mauritian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

In 2018, she tied the knot with Rael Braverman, who works as a manager at the Mercedes-Benz Group and is described as a “proud member of the Jewish community”.

The wedding ceremony took place at the House of Commons in February 2018. Rael Braverman, who immigrated to the UK as a teenager from South Africa, had previously resided in Israel.

Suella shared with The Jewish Chronicle that she has “close family members who serve in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF)”.
