The up-and-coming basketeer was born to father Moukietou Bonfoh and mother Eric Johnson in Lome, Togo.

The Johnson family is native to Togo. Like their son, they are devout Muslims who practice Islam as a way of life.

Besides himself, he has two younger brothers, Sharon and Ronald; a younger sister, Merkel; and one older sister, Victoria, which indicates that he comes from a large family.
