The Green Bay Police have officially announced the tragic demise of Randi. They confirmed that she was the driver who lost her life after her vehicle crashed into the Fox River on May 6.

According to the police, the incident occurred in the early evening, just before the bridge in the 100 block of Main Street, when Van Lanen’s vehicle turned off the roadway.

Following the accident, her lifeless body was discovered inside the submerged vehicle, and both were subsequently recovered from the river.

The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that Van Lanen’s cause of death was drowning. As the investigation into the crash remains ongoing, further medical testing is being conducted, and therefore, no additional details are currently being released.

Randi’s life took a tragic turn on May 6 as she was involved in a devastating accident.

Then, at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, her car went off Main Street and into the Fox River. A black automobile reportedly submerged, according to witnesses. Four hours later, a dive crew recovered her body from the river.

The police are currently investigating the accident and awaiting additional medical examination results. For their inquiry, police also gained access to security footage from the bridge. At this time, the police agency is not providing any additional information.

Sadly, she leaves behind a grieving family, including her loving husband, David, her son, Hunter, her parents, Terry and Lynn Challe, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Nadine Van Lanen.
