This incident came as a shock to the basketball community. The two teammates arrested with Lamelo Ball were Cody Riley and Jalen Hill.

It’s worth noting that Lamelo, the popular sportsman, was only 16 years old at the time of the arrest.

The arrests reportedly took place the day before the Pac-12 China Game, raising questions as to why the trio was apprehended at that particular time.

On February 16, Ball had another remarkable game, contributing 28 points, 10 assists, and a season-high 12 rebounds in a 120-110 triumph over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Charlotte Hornets confirmed after the game that he had suffered a fractured ankle, resulting in an indefinite absence from the team.

On March 1, Ball underwent successful surgery to treat the injury; subsequently, it was determined that he would not be able to participate for the remainder of the season.
