Kate Beckinsale parents Richard and Judy Beckinsale are both English actors. Kate is the youngest daughter of her parents.

Beckinsale was born and raised in London along with her elder half-sister Samantha Beckinsale and other step brothers as well.

The actress was interested in acting ever since she was in high school. After she went to New College, Oxford, she became associated with The Oxford University Dramatic Society.

Kate first debuted as an actress back in 1991 and the first role she had was in the famous television series named Devices and Desires.

After having quite long experiences with the acting industry, she moved to Hollywood to continue her further acting career.

Other than that, Kate is also a model and a philanthropist.

Kate faced a loss of her father when she was really young and it left a scar within her. However, her mother Judy got married to famous television director Roy Battersby, whom she is quite close with.

Her parents got married only when she was in the kindergarten.

Kate’s father Richard Arthur Beckinsale is quite famous for playing a role of Lennie Godber in the BBC’s sitcom, Porridge.

Richard is of Anglo-Burmese descent and is also a distant relative of the famous British actor named Charles Laughton.

When he was at school, Richard was a part of multiple school plays and dramas. When he was 15, he dropped out from his school to pursue a career in acting.

At the age of 16, he got enrolled at at Nottingham College where he pursued a drama teacher’s training program for two years.

After he became eligible to apply for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, he got selected there only after the second attempt.

He graduated from RADA in 1968 and a year later, he made his first television debut for Coronation Street. Other than that, he was also involved in famous theatre plays and acts around the same time.

Kate’s father Richard was married twice. He shares his first daughter, Samantha with his first wife, Margaret Bradley. The couple separated in 1971 after Richard got busy with his acting career.

Richard remarried again in 1977 to Judy Loe and Kate was the only child that they had together.

Her father passed away when he was working for the BBC’s sitcom, Bloomers. His post mortem report revealed that the cause of his death was due to the heart attack.

At the time of his death, Kate was just five years old and she was quite traumatized by the news.

Kate Beckinsale’s mother Judy Loe has a bachelors degree in English and Drama from the University of Birmingham.

Judy is quite famous for her cast in the famous rock musical called Hair. She debuted as an actress in 1970 and has been a cast at various series like Ace of Wands, Crown Court, Doctors, and many more.

After her spouse’s death, she got married to the British television Director Roy Battersby in 1997.
