Princeton first-year student James Li passed away at 27 after an incident at the NJ Transit crossing on Faculty Road. The tragedy occurred on 16 February as suggested by the Vice President for Campus Life W. Rochelle.
As per Mulumba’s statement, the train departed from the University at 2:14 p.m. Likewise, it was scheduled to reach Princeton Junction at 2:19 p.m.
Moreover, there were no reported injuries to nearly 30 customers, including crew on board as suggested by the reports.

The concerned authority of the area and firefighter came on board and checked to ask if everyone was alright and if anyone had been hurt.
The officers just repeated that there had been an emergency and that they were going to evacuate us from the train because it could not move.

First-year student James Li’s close ones are devasted by his untimely demise. Likewise, Campus Life Vice President W. Rochelle Calhoun stated in a campus message:
Few details are available and the incident is under investigation.
At around 2:15 p.m., a Princeton Junction-bound train “struck and fatally injured” James Li, as suggested by a senior public information officer for NJ Transit in an email.
Reportedly, this was the eighth student death in the past three years. Also, James was a member of Yeh College. He also attended Princeton High School.
After the incident, an email was circulated to members of the University community at 3:59 p.m. via TigerAlert revealing Faculty Road was shut down “from Alexander Street to Elm Drive Circle,” citing police activity.
The campus authorities’ notice included that resources and support would be available via Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS).
Those who require the service are requested to join the Office of Religious Life, the residential colleges, and the Graduate School.
Also, students wishing to express themselves with a counselor can contact the CPS Cares Line at McCosh Health Center.
The notice further states that CPS would be available on Saturday, 17 February between 12 to 2 p.m.
Similarly, the campus will organize a gathering for “students who want to reflect and support one another” on Sunday, 18 February at 4 p.m. in the residence of Yeh College chief.
