Ismail Haniyeh is a prominent Palestinian politician. He was a senior leader of Hamas, a Palestinian political and militant organization.

Ismail was one of the disputed Prime ministers of the Palestinian National Authority. He was born in the Gaza Strip in 1962 and studied at the Islamic University of Gaza.

Ismail Haniyeh Parents

Ismail Haniyeh, an accomplished politician, was born to Palestinian parents. He grew up in the Al-shati refugee camp in the Egyptian Gaza Strip.

The former leader of Hamas’s parents became refugees after fleeing their homes near what is now Ashkelon, Israel, during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

Ismail’s father worked as a fisherman, and his full name is Ismail Abdel Salam Ahmed Haniyeh. He has four siblings.

Mr. Haniyeh’s siblings are Suhila, Sabah, Kholidia, and Laila Haniyeh. Among his siblings, Kholidia, Laila, and Sabah are Israeli citizens.

The Palestinian leader’s Israeli siblings reside in the Bedouin town of Tel as-Sabi in southern Israel. kholida was the first to move, and later two sisters joined her.

Laila and Sabah are reportedly widowed but have chosen to stay in Tel as-Sabi. It must be to retain their Israeli citizenship.

The chief went to schools run by the United Nations. He finished his studies in Arabic literature in 1987.

During his university years, Ismail led the student council representing the Muslim Brotherhood between 1985 and 1986.
