Isiah Pacheco brother, Travoise Cannon, was killed on January 10th, 2016, in a horrific act of violence in his apartment building in Bridgeton.
Pacheco plays running back for the Chiefs of Kansas City. He played college football at Rutgers University before being drafted by the Chiefs in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
In his first season, Pacheco helped the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVII. In his NFL debut, Pacheco scored his first career rushing touchdown.
Later in the season, he recorded his first career start against the 49ers. Against the Chargers, he set a new personal best with 107 rushing yards.
Pacheco set the record for most scrimmage yards by a 7th-round running back rookie, finishing with 830 rushing yards, 130 receiving yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, and 597 kick return yards.
In Super Bowl LVII, Pacheco was the Chiefs’ starting running back. He had 76 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ victory over the Eagles.
After the season, despite playing through injuries in the Super Bowl, he underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum and broken hand.

Pacheco first faced tragedy on January 10th, 2016, when his 29-year-old brother, Travoise, was fatally stabbed in his Bridgeton apartment building.
The alleged attacker claimed self-defense and evaded murder charges. This devastating loss drew Pacheco and his sister Celeste closer, although she kept him grounded despite his emerging football stardom.
He also vividly remembers her dancing to rap music while baking brownies.
However, immense tragedy struck again on September 20th, 2017, when Celeste was discovered dead in her Millville home with a gunshot wound.
One week later, authorities arrested Donald Scurry Jr., who was eventually found guilty of her murder and sentenced to 65 years in prison.
Through unthinkable hardship, Pacheco found the resolve to carry forward and relentlessly pursue excellence to honor his lost siblings’ memory.

During his high school years in South Jersey, Pacheco endured unimaginable personal tragedy, losing his brother and sister to murder within less than two years.
These horrific events left lifelong emotional scars but also drove Pacheco to strive for greatness with tireless passion and zeal.
Pacheco has a series of tattoos on his right arm, commemorating his siblings and honoring his roots.
Most prominent is a mural tattoo depicting his late sister and brother, serving as a permanent memorial and tribute to their lives tragically cut short.
The arm tattoo also integrates symbols of some of the other critical touchstones in Pacheco’s early life, including homages to his home state of New Jersey, his high school (Vineland South), and his college (Rutgers University).
Moreover, the well-known sportsman has not revealed much about his other siblings other than his late brother and sister, Travoise and Celeste, respectively.

Pacheco was born in Vineland, New Jersey, to Felicia Cannon and Julio Pacheco.
He is the youngest of five children and has Puerto Rican heritage on his father’s side.
During his youth, Pacheco played Pop Warner football for the Vineland Blitz in Cumberland County.
He later attended Vineland High School, where he excelled as a quarterback and running back.
His standout senior season was capped by leading Vineland High to victory over rival Millville Senior High in the highly anticipated annual Thanksgiving Day Classic game.
While Pacheco has achieved remarkable success as an athlete, few details are publicly known about his family, and he seems to maintain a low profile regarding his background.
