The Denton native became the lead sports anchor at NBC 5 in March 2022, the first woman to hold that title at the station.
Before this, Rahimi worked part-time at NBC 5 and full-time at The Score, co-hosting the midday show with Bernstein.
Following her promotion, she appeared on NBC 5 only on Wednesdays. This marked her return to TV after NBC Sports Chicago let her go in August 2020 during company-wide layoffs.
The Score hired her in January 2021, and NBC 5 rehired her in November after Siafa Lewis left.
Now, with Rahimi leaving, Mike Berman is reportedly the only full-time sports anchor/reporter at NBC 5 following Ruthie Polinsky’s move to the new Chicago Sports Network last month.
