Gunman Ryan Wesley Routh and the veteran who assassinated Chris Kyle are not related to each other despite sharing the same surname. 

The trial for Donald Trump gunman Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, is taking a dramatic twist.

Prosecutors requested an indefinite delay in the trial as they comb through thousands of videos and 4 million gigabytes of text and audio files. 

They also said they had executed 13 search warrants and seized hundreds of pieces of evidence, including electronic devices. 

His trial will start on November 18, 2024, but it could be delayed once the judge decides. 

Ryan pleaded not guilty to several charges, including the attempted assassination of former President Trump. 

After the incident, he appeared in federal court in West Palm Beach, Florida. He has been ordered to remain in prison without bail as his case goes through the court. 

Ryan Wesley Routh And Eddie Ray Routh Have No Connection

Despite sharing the same surname and American nationality, Ryan Wesley Routh and Eddie Ray Routh have no familial connection. 

Some social media users speculate that Ryan Routh and Eddie Ray are father and son, looking at their physical appearance. One user wrote

In these photos they look like they could be father and son, but Eddie Ray Routh has gotten fat in prison and looks bloated now.

However, Ryan Routh’s biological son’s name is Oran Routh, who has been arrested on charges of possessing child physical abuse images. 

Ryan Routh is an American man who allegedly attempted to assassinate former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election, on September 15, 2024. 

 

He was born in 1966 in Guilford County, North Carolina. For most of his life, he was a resident of Greensboro, where he attended North Carolina A&T State University for two semesters in 1995

Ryan was convicted of possessing a firearm, resisting, delaying, and obstructing a law enforcement officer, and driving with his license revoked after a 3-hour stand-off with police on December 15, 2002

On the other hand, Eddie Ray Routh, 37, was born on September 30, 1987, in Lancaster, Texas, United States. 

He is a former U.S. Marine Corps veteran who was reportedly taken to the gun range by Kyle and Littlefield to help him with his post-traumatic stress disorder, which he suffered from his time in the military. 

 

Eddie was experiencing auditory hallucinations and paranoia and had threatened su*cide.

He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in July 2011 after serving four years.
