People Speculated That Duc Minh Bui Is Suffering From Mental Disorder
While the exact motive behind the shooting has not been found yet, people speculated that Duc might have been suffering from a mental disorder.
Following the mass shooting of 2021 at VTA, many employees suffered a mental disorder for which the company provided free mental health awareness programs.
Multiple lawsuits were filed against VTA and private security companies. Moreover, a former bus driver alleged his post-traumatic stress disorder was worsened by the incident.

Many have speculated that Duc Minh Bui became the patient of depression following the incident.
VTA contracted Therapists offer free, confidential counseling sessions for individuals, families, or groups.
Through their official websites, they announced the names of therapists who were made available to meet with employees who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, or were having difficulty communicating, focusing, or feeling stressed.
When calling the therapists for service, employees were said to indicate whether they were VTA employees or family members of VTA employees.
However, neither the company nor investigators have disclosed that Duc has been suffering from depression.
Further investigation is ongoing, and SCCSO has announced that anyone with information on this incident should call its office at 408-808-4500.
