Tammy made a revelation during the season 4 premiere, which aired in January 2023. She disclosed that her weight had reached the 717-pound mark, prompting her to enter rehab.
She needed to drop from 717 pounds to 550 pounds to qualify for weight loss surgery. To her great excitement, she successfully reached a weight of 534 pounds.
Similarly, Amy from the same TLC series began her wellness journey at 406 pounds in the first episode. Her primary objective was to attain approval for gastric bypass surgery and expand her family.

In late November 2021, Tammy took to TikTok to inform her followers that she had been hospitalized. She disclosed that she had suffered from carbon dioxide poisoning and had to undergo a tracheotomy, which involved the creation of a hole in her throat to facilitate oxygen intake.
