Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith Jr have been charged with first-degree m*rder over the shooting of 36-year-old Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr, at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in Memphis. 

Johnson pleaded not guilty, and his trial started on Monday, September 24, 2024. 

According to Fox 13 Memphis reports, Smith testified that he and Justin were told by a third man, Hernandez Govan, that Mims had placed a hit on Dolph’s head worth $100,000.

On the day of the incident, Smith said Johnson picked him up in a white Mercedez Benz.

They knew Dolph would be in Memphis for a Thanksgiving food drive and set out to find him. 

According to Smith’s testimony, they followed him to Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies and said they made the block, pulled up that backway, jumped out, and started s*ooting.

Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, the older brother of Yo Gotti, aka Mario Mims, was estimated to have a net worth of around $15 million at his passing.

He was a member of Collective Music Group, a label with a yearly revenue of around $150 million. The label’s current president is Brandon Mims, Yo Gotti’s Cousin. 

On the other hand, Jook’s brother Yo Gotti has an estimated net worth of over $100 million, primarily earned as a rapper and producer. 

Moreover, he owns the Lamborghini URUS custom color worth around $285,000. He listed his lavish villa in the LA suburbs for $8.6 million

Gotti has listed the estate only 1 year after he purchased it for $7.6 million.

Anthony “Big Jook” Mims has been interested in musical fields since childhood. He was raised along with Yo Gotti making songs.

Moreover, he was actively involved in Gotti’s record company, but it’s unknown what Anthony’s official title with the label was. 

Following Jook’s passing, The Commerical Appeal made multiple attempts to reach a label representative and partnered with major label Interscope. However, they did not respond to requests for comment.
