Marion Hugh Suge Knight Jr, popularly known as Suge Knight, was born on 19th April 1965. He is a former American record executive and a former C.E.O. of the Death Row Records record label. Surge was a convicted felon.

Knight was the prominent figure behind the commercialization and success of the gangster rap genre during the 90s. The feat gave an attribute to record initial albums, Dr. Dre’s Chronic, released in 1992, and in 1993, Doggystyle by Snoop D.O. double G.

Later in 1995, Tupac Shakur, one of the greatest gangster rappers, was imprisoned for over four years. Suge made a deal with Tupac in October and paid his bail, freeing him from prison. So he could sign Tupac on his record label.

By the following year, Death Row Records released the song All Eyez on Me by Tupac Shakur, and the single got a huge commercial success.

There is no evidence that Suge Knight got Stabbed in Jail; however, the record label Death Row Records confirmed that the Stabbing news is just a rumor spreading around.

In September 1996, Suge and Tupac departed from the boxing match with Mike Tyson. While leaving, the group assaulted Orlando Anderson, who was a member of Southside Compton Crips. A few hours later, the group got shot in their car while Knight was driving.

Tupac was heavily injured during the incident, which caused the rapper’s death. Before the death of Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre left Death Row Records, and later Snoop Dogg also left the record after two years, which caused a rapid decline of the record label.

Meanwhile, Surge Knight faced allegations of employing gang members and being involved in violence in his business. Between early 1990 to 2000, Surge was locked inside the prison for few times for assault convictions and association with violations.

In September 2015, Suge was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter hit and ran case and was sentenced to 28 years in prison as per law enforcement.

He had more felonies from the past, like stealing cameras and sending abusive and harassing messages to F. Gary, the director of Straight Outta Compton, which triggered the three-strike rule of California.

Suge is also a prime suspect in the murder of one of the biggest rappers in hip-hop history, Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie.

Suge Knight Health Update

No reports claim Suge Knight’s health condition, as he is currently serving his prison trial for voluntary manslaughter. The law enforcement sentenced him to 28 years of imprisonment, six years for breaking the third strike rule, and 22 years for running over two people.

In early 2015, Suge crashed the car into two men, killing Heavyweight Records’s co-founder and running away from the scenario. Another victim of the car accident was Cle Sloan, a filmmaker who got many fractures around the ankles and injuries on the head.

The witnesses said that Knight followed them to the Burger Stand parking lot and got into an argument on the set of Straight Outta Compton. They later collided with those two men, and the collision seemed far more intentional than accidental.

Later on security footage, it was clear that Knight ran over them. He claimed that the action was for his self-defense.

Currently, Suge is at RJ Donovan Correctional Facility located in San Diego. He will be eligible for parole by the end of 2034.
