Furthermore, he faced the challenge of obesity, reaching a peak of 400 pounds.

However, he lost around 200 pounds before he passed away.

Tragically, Pinette’s cause of death was attributed to a pulmonary embolism.

In August 2013, he had to halt a stand-up tour to admit himself into a rehabilitation facility, highlighting the seriousness of his battle with prescription drug addiction.

Although no autopsy was performed, a medical examiner confirmed the presence of liver and heart disease.

Pinette’s physician certifies the pulmonary embolism as the official cause of death.

His mother is of Acadian roots, and both of his parents hailed from the Canadian province of New Brunswick.

Growing up, he shared his life with siblings, including his brothers Robert Pinette, Jr., and sisters Dorothy Nardella and Kathleen Reinersmann.

John held a special place within his extended family as an uncle to Kathryn Welsh, Kristin Nardella, James Pinette, Allison Caffas, and John Reinersmann.

In pursuit of higher education, the comedian graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1986, obtaining a degree in accounting.
